Baxter Montgomery is an experimenter and interpreter using paint and light to translate messages from elsewhere in the hopes of communicating the truth regardless of time. He makes his home in the American Middle West and is untaught from a classical or academic sense.
Much of his work documents—at depth—the stories of a scattered and assembled collection of mystics, poets, polymaths, and explorers who have navigated the previous centuries along with those who will chart the world in the face of The Great Depopulation. These arrangements of paint, light, and environment are possible tools for understanding that profound shift that follows in the new world.
